Portfolio Update: As of October 24, 2015

Its been about a full Quarter since my last Portfolio Update at the start of June. Since that time the markets have been quite turbulent with a lot of worrying and speculation on the affects of slower growth in China, low oil prices, interest rates and elections. (Click here for my post on that)

I have also since then added to a few of my positions, as well as initiated a new one with my Recent Buy of Manulife Financial last month. As well as increasing my positions in Bank of Nova Scotia, Veresen and eliminating my holdings of ZDV, my BMO exchange traded fund.

Total Portfolio Value
Annual Dividends

$29,226.11
$1,570.51

My post update had my portfolio valued at $29,154. With Friday's market closing valuation of $29,226, my portfolio has grown by $72, or 2%. Which really is not a lot, especially considering I have added additional money into the account. However, with the sinking share prices of those stocks the money that I did put in was able to buy more of the same stocks for less. So when the markets eventually rebound, hopefully those companies will be apart of the rising tide and boost my portfolio valuation with them. I would really enjoy seeing the total value hit the $30,000 mark for the first time before year end.

So even though the value of the portfolio has stood still, since that last update on the total portfolio value, my dividends have kept on coming in. Having contributed $575 in cash which was used to buy additional stocks since June!
