So I am very happy to be able to present my current holdings and to take a look at how my stocks have done since my last update 11 months ago! Since that time I have made a few buys and sells within the portfolio.
Under dividends, Q denotes a quarterly dividend, and M is for monthly distributions.

Total Portfolio Value | Annual Dividends | 100% | ||||||
$44,584.44 | 1938.14 |
In the past 11 months my portfolio has grown to a market value of $44,584 from $35,616, an increase of $8,968! Within that span of time I had only managed to add $1,790 of fresh capital to the portfolio, meaning that there was $7178 in stock value appreciation. And of course dividends being put to work along side my deposits.
The overall portfolio increased by 20.1%, which is a combination of share price increases and deposits. My annual expected dividend income went from $1,814.28 to $1,938.14, an increase of $123.86. And my portfolio currently has a dividend yield on market value of 4.35%, and on book value of 5.1%.
For the most part my portfolio remains relatively unchanged from the previous update with the main exception being that I have added two new positions which do not fit within the Dividend Growth or Dividend Income categories of stocks which I focus on. Those two being the medical marijuana companies of Aphria Inc and Aurora Cannabis Inc. who are both low cost producers and I am, to use the term loosely betting on them to continue to grow and have large share appreciation when/if recreational marijuana becomes throughout Canada and the United States. I will be making a post on these two purchases and my thoughts on the sector in the coming week.
Thank you for stopping by, and please feel free to share your thoughts. Particularly if you think the 'Green wave' is worth the risk or not.
